Flowers have always been a passion of mine, since I was a kid. I remember, there was this period of my childhood when I wanted to become a florist when I grew up. I wanted to create beautiful bouquets and every time I had the occasion of collecting flowers, I would play I was creating the most magnificent bouquet for my mum or my grandma. Well, I have not become a florist or a floral designer, but their appeal on me never ceased.
When Anna from Ophicina Botanica/Flowers and Bags called me to ask if I were down to creating a commercial photoshoot for Fati Amor Bags’ and for her own brand, I immediately said yes! Anna has an amazing eye for flowers and compositions (like obviously) and it was a pleasure working together, figuring out the color combinations, the flower types and lastly, putting together everything. We opted for huge contrasts first with the amazing bright pink wild flowers, then a couple tone-on-tone compositions for a second option like the light pink dahlia and the soft pink bag. mixing and matching. My heart was full of happiness and my eyes were filled with beauty. I am so happy that these two ladies included and wanted me for this project. I believe that many more are to come soon, and I am always super excited whenever I see one of these photos (which are just a part of the whole afternoon shooting) on their Instagram feed.
One thing that striked me most, was that this photoshoot was centered on a sustainable and environment-friendly approach. The bags in fact are dyed naturally, with natural colors, and the flowers we had were all from the surrounding areas of Castelli Romani, harvested by local producers on their own lands. We were of a very small impact and that also made me feel good. I can not wait to do more of these things, because even if it was something new and unusual for me, I had an amazing time and I am so happy with the outcome! Let me know your thoughts down below 🙂
