Close to Fossombrone just accross the Gole del Furlo, there is this amazing canyon, yep, an Italian canyon called the Marmitte dei Giganti, which basically is the giant’s kettle. Of course it has nothing to do in size, or colors even, with the Gran Canyon, but it is still an amazing place to go visit and see. Centuries and more have carved this landscape and allows river, the Metauro to flow there and create fun for people with kayaks and canoes. The view is spectacularand the lights are perfect too – not counting the hot weather we had while there! The Metauro runs in the middle of Fossombrone, the town we were staying at – while there, on Sunday, people had a fishing contest on the side of the river and we just wandered around enjoying the fresh air.
