I started a new job on April 1, 2015 in an office in Rome : it might sound like an April’s Fool but I can assure you it was/is not. (Now, it has been 2 months since I quit, company got bankrupted unfortunately.)
Back to the day, I was living in Sermoneta (how I love that place!) – 70km South from Rome, so I used to wake up at 6.30 am and head out at 7.00 am max: although it is not that far away, traffic on the Pontina is always such an unknown variable! You can get to Rome in 45 min or in 2 hours, depends on how many crazy people and accidents you find on the roads… It can be really depressing at times. One day, I decided to take my camera with myself to the office to tell the story of my everyday: from the Dogs saying “hi” in the morning to eating the delicious Cosmi cornetto in the car; up to the long corridor of the office that still looks like you’re going to the saddest grey hospital ever; and finally to the lovely green fields welcoming me back in the province of Latina with the birds’ chirping.
The one thing I loved the most about going away and getting home was the tail-shaking of the dogs, especially Jam: so sad to see me go and so happy to see me coming back. They always definitely made my day and could bring a smile to my face even the day has been difficult or stressful. Dogs are always the best emotional and psychological help and stress release.
