Team sports have a huge bonding power: you feel part of something, something that goes beyond being a team, it’s like a family. Smaller or bigger, being part of this family whether it is your team, friends or your discipline is so important. It brings people together like only few things do. That’s why it’s nice to see that even if you are rivals in the rink, once the game ends you are all friends, part of the same thing. This is what the last photo is about.
Something that has always fascinated me is the look on the players’ faces before and during the game, how they concentrate and follow the game from the bench or from the penalty box. So while being in Roccaraso with the Mammuth Roma in collaboration with Pattinatori Sambenedettesi during the last day of the UISP championship on the 27/5/18, I decided to go on with the flow and use the 50mm lens that I had brought with me (together with the 70-200 for the “action”!) to capture some great portraits of the players. It was really fun and challenging – I might already have said that – but I think the results are pretty cool. Let me know what you think.
