Wouldn’t you walk on a road made of magic gold if you could? I bet you would! Well, we actually did: back in 2015, still during our Lago del Trasimeno tour (The forest of Castel Rigone, Castiglione del Lago, guardian of the Lake Trasimeno) while driving down from Castel Rigone to the main road that took us around the lake, we stopped to admire the beauty of the road and the summery colors that surrounded us up to the horizon.
The plant that “drowned” the roads in pure liquid gold is nothing else than the genisteae, with all its beautiful bright yellow little flowers growing in bushes. So much wonder for a lovely day of June, as if the whole region were welcoming us with the arms wide open. We could not have asked for more; we were blessed.
